Serene Air’s Operating License Revoked Due to Insufficient Number of Airworthy Aircraft

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has announced the suspension of Serene Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and the deactivation of the airline’s operating license. The decision was made on the grounds that the carrier no longer has a sufficient number of serviceable aircraft to conduct commercial operations.

The official statement emphasized that the airline currently has “no aircraft in serviceable condition,” describing this as a critical shortcoming in terms of maintaining safe, continuous, and regulatory-compliant flight operations.

According to reports, all five aircraft in Serene Air’s fleet have been classified as “unairworthy,” making it impossible for the airline to continue operations. It was also noted that the carrier had been frequently canceling flights, which drew the attention of regulatory authorities.

In response to the decision, Serene Air’s management stated that operations were halted due to “unexpected circumstances,” stressing that passenger safety and the company’s reputation remain their top priorities. The airline added that it is working closely with authorities to resume services as soon as possible.

Industry sources indicated that, in order to have its license reinstated, Serene Air must provide at least three operational aircraft to meet regulatory requirements.

Following the enforcement of the decision, all domestic and international flights were immediately suspended.
