Ryanair Responds Once Again to “Standing Seat” Rumors

Ryanair has once again firmly denied the rumors that its aircraft will feature seats designed for standing travel. Following the circulation of images on social media of the unusually designed “Skyrider” seats, the manufacturing company Aviointeriors also clarified that there is no implementation of such a project.
The origin of this rumor dates back to provocative statements made by Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary nearly 15 years ago. O’Leary had previously sparked controversy with suggestions like “pay-per-use toilets” and “extra fees for overweight passengers,” reinforcing the company’s radical image.
Although Skyrider seats have technically passed some safety tests, they pose serious comfort issues for passengers. This system, which involves standing in a tilted position, can cause fatigue and circulation problems even on short-haul flights.
👉In conclusion, there is currently no standing seat implementation on Ryanair flights. However, the rumor remains a topic of discussion and is likely to resurface in the future.
