Qatar Airways Flight #QR646 Looped 27 Times Over Kathmandu Due to Bad Weather

Qatar Airways’ flight #QR646, operating from Doha to Kathmandu (Nepal) with a Boeing B787-9 registered as A7-BHK, was unable to land at Kathmandu due to adverse weather conditions. The pilots had to hold over Kathmandu for approximately three hours, completing a total of 27 loops.

As weather conditions did not improve and the aircraft reached minimum fuel levels, the pilots diverted to Kolkata, India.

According to Flightradar24 data, this flight became the most tracked flight worldwide today. Additionally, it was recorded as one of the two flights with the highest number of loops in aviation history.
