Pope Leo XIV’s Flight Becomes the Most Tracked Flight

Pope Leo XIV, the Head of State of the Vatican and the spiritual leader of the Catholic Church, arrived in Ankara as part of his first official foreign visit. The flight carrying Pope Leo XIV to Turkey became the most tracked flight on Flightradar24.
Pope Leo XIV’s first stop in Turkey was Ankara. The plane carrying the Pope landed at Ankara Esenboğa Airport at 12:30 PM. The flight, an Airbus A320 with registration EI-INA, operated by ITA Airways, took off from Rome at 07:58 AM local time to head to Ankara. Shortly after takeoff, the flight became the most tracked flight on the Flightradar24 flight tracking system.
During his visit to Turkey, after visiting Anıtkabir in Ankara, Pope Leo XIV is expected to meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Later in the evening, Pope Leo XIV will travel to Istanbul, where he will meet with President of Religious Affairs, Safi Arpaguş. On Friday, November 28, the Pope will first visit the Saint Esprit Catholic Church in Harbiye, where he will meet with bishops, priests, deacons, and religious officers. He will then visit the French Friary. On the same day, Pope Leo XIV will also visit İznik in Bursa and lead a mass there.
