Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has reported an annual profit for the first time in 21 years. For the 2024 fiscal year, the airline recorded an operating profit of 9.3 billion Pakistani Rupees (approximately $33.14 million), and a net profit of 26.2 billion Rupees after deferred taxes.
This development is seen as a crucial step in the restructuring of the long-struggling airline, as the government moves into the second phase of its privatization process, aiming to sell a financially stabilized PIA.
