Phones to Be Completely Switched Off on Flights in Nigeria

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has announced a new regulation requiring that during the most critical phases of flight—takeoff and landing—mobile phones must be completely powered off, rather than simply placed in airplane mode.

The authority stated that the decision was made to prioritize passenger safety and that the rule will apply to all airlines. Carriers have been instructed to update their operating procedures to ensure compliance.
