Pentagon: Venezuelan Jets Near US Navy Ship

The Pentagon says two Venezuelan military aircraft flew close to a US Navy vessel in international waters, calling it “highly provocative.”

The move comes as tensions rise: the US has deployed over 4,000 troops to the Caribbean for counter-narcotics operations, while Venezuela mobilizes its forces. Earlier this week, a US strike on a suspected Venezuela-linked drug boat killed 11 people in the Southern Caribbean.
