Pegasus Launches First Flight to Atyrau Airport

Pegasus Airlines has launched direct scheduled flights to the city of Atyrau in western Kazakhstan. The inaugural flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport was welcomed with a ceremony upon arrival. Pegasus has also become the first foreign airline to operate flights to Atyrau Airport.

The flights will operate twice weekly, contributing to the strengthening of economic and social ties between the two countries. The opening ceremony was attended by local authorities, including regional officials and civil aviation representatives, and attracted significant media attention.

Mehmet Yaşarhan, Pegasus Airlines’ Country Manager for Kazakhstan, stated that Pegasus now operates 26 weekly flights to five destinations in Kazakhstan—Almaty, Astana, Shymkent, Aktau, and Atyrau—underscoring the airline’s continued strong growth in the country. Yaşarhan emphasized that the launch of the Atyrau route further reinforces Pegasus’ presence in Kazakhstan.
