A passenger in Las Vegas was taken into custody after allegedly tying her dog to a ticket counter area and leaving it behind in order to board her flight. The 26-year-old traveler, identified as Germiran Bryson, was reportedly denied boarding due to missing travel documentation for the animal.
The incident occurred at Harry Reid International Airport. Bryson was attempting to travel with her dog but was informed at the JetBlue counter that she did not have the required paperwork. Authorities say she then tied the two-year-old Goldendoodle–mini poodle mix to a baggage measurement stand, passed through security, and proceeded toward Gate D1.
Airport surveillance footage helped identify the passenger. During questioning, she reportedly claimed the dog had a tracking device and would be able to return home on its own. Officials stated that she resisted arrest and displayed aggressive behavior, leading to charges including animal abandonment and resisting a public officer.
The abandoned dog was taken into protective custody by airport staff and police. Under local regulations, the owner was given a 10-day period to reclaim the animal. When the dog was not retrieved, it was transferred to Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas.
The dog, later named “JetBlue,” has reportedly received numerous adoption applications and is expected to find a new home soon.
