Global airline alliance oneworld has announced the appointment of aviation executive Ole Orvér as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 23 February 2026.
Orvér succeeds Peiper, who departed to assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer at American Airlines. During the interim period, the alliance had been operating without a permanent CEO. oneworld Governing Board Chairman and American Airlines CEO Robert Isom stated that Orvér’s strong commercial background, extensive experience in airline partnerships, and international leadership expertise will bring significant value to the alliance.
With more than 20 years of aviation industry experience, Orvér most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at Finnair until April 2025. Over the course of his career, he has also held senior executive roles at Qatar Airways, Air Berlin, LOT Polish Airlines, and Scandinavian Airlines.
The appointment marks a new chapter for the alliance as it continues to strengthen cooperation among its member carriers and expand its global network strategy.
