An unbelievable incident in Bangladesh unfolded like a movie scene. A mother, trying to stop her married son from going on vacation with his girlfriend, made a false bomb threat targeting the flight he was set to board.
Flight BG-373 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, scheduled to fly from Dhaka to Kathmandu, was halted before departure due to the threat. All 142 passengers and 7 crew members were safely evacuated and taken to the terminal. No dangerous items were found after a thorough search.
During the investigation, 9 people were detained. It was revealed that a passenger named Emon had planned to travel to Nepal with his girlfriend, despite being married. His mother and wife, upon learning this, decided to intervene.
Prompted by Emon’s friend Imran, the mother called air traffic control and issued a fake bomb threat.
Following the incident, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) announced that the harshest legal actions would be taken against such false reports. SM Ragib Samad, the manager of Dhaka Airport, added that strict measures are being put in place to prevent similar incidents in the future.
