Midair Helicopter Collision in the U.S.: 1 Dead, 1 Critically Injured
A midair collision between two helicopters in the U.S. state of New Jersey resulted in the death of one pilot and left another pilot critically injured. The accident occurred around 11:25 a.m. local time on Sunday over Hammonton Municipal Airport.
In a statement by the FAA, it was reported that the collision involved an Enstrom F-28A and an Enstrom 280C helicopter, with only the pilots on board both aircraft. Following the collision, one of the helicopters reportedly lost control and crashed to the ground.
After the incident, the NTSB and FAA launched an official investigation into the accident, stating that inquiries into the cause are ongoing and further details will be shared with the public at a later stage.
