Maham Air’s First B777

Iran has completed the painting and maintenance processes of the five Boeing 777-200ER aircraft it recently added to its fleet through a shell company based in Madagascar, and has now begun test flights as part of integrating them into Mahan Air’s inventory.

Due to long-standing sanctions, the country’s civil aviation sector has faced major challenges in renewing its fleet. As a result, Iranian airlines continue to add wide-body aircraft through indirect procurement methods and shell companies established in different countries. However, the fact that most of these aircraft are of advanced age and their maintenance histories cannot be fully tracked raises serious concerns regarding operational safety.

It is stated that the five newly acquired B777-200ERs will gradually be deployed on scheduled operations following the completion of their test flights.
