Lufthansa’s 100th Anniversary Special Livery Fleet Continues to Grow

As part of Lufthansa’s 100th anniversary celebrations, the special “anniversary fleet” featuring commemorative liveries continues to expand. Following the earlier delivery of a Boeing 787-9, two additional aircraft are now set to join the fleet.

According to a company statement, an Airbus A320neo and an Airbus A350-900 will leave paint facilities in Norwich, England, and Châteauroux, France, in the coming days, both featuring the special 100th anniversary design. Each aircraft displays a white crane on a blue fuselage, with the crane’s wings visually merging into the aircraft’s wings. The left side of the fuselage carries the “100” marking, while the right side features the inscription “1926 | 2026”. A “100” marking is also visible on the underside of the aircraft.

The Airbus A320neo, registered as D-AING, is scheduled to arrive in Frankfurt on January 19, 2026, after which it will enter scheduled service. Its first commercial flight is planned to operate to Larnaca, Cyprus.

The Airbus A350-900, registered as D-AIXL, is expected to land in Munich on February 3, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Boeing 787-9 registered D-ABPU, known as “Papa Uniform”, which arrived in Frankfurt on December 23, will begin scheduled operations as of January 20, 2026. Its inaugural flight will be to Mumbai, India. Positioned as a flying ambassador of the 100th anniversary, the aircraft will operate on long-haul routes throughout the year, meeting passengers and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Lufthansa also plans to apply the special anniversary livery to three additional aircraft by autumn 2026. These will include one Airbus A380, one Boeing 747-8, and the first Airbus A350-1000, which is expected to join the fleet in October. The special liveries are intended to highlight the airline’s 100-year history and reinforce its global brand identity.
