Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa has unveiled a special aircraft livery to celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026. A brand-new Boeing 787-9 (registration D-ABPU) is planned to be delivered with this unique design. The aircraft is expected to join the fleet in December.
Lufthansa’s first flight took place on April 6, 1926, between Berlin and Zurich. Operated with a Junkers F 13, this service marked the official beginning of the company, which was then founded under the name “Deutsche Luft Hansa.” In the following years, the airline adopted its current name, Lufthansa.
