Lufthansa A320 Aircraft Experienced a Bird Strike, Diverted to Budapest

Lufthansa flight #LH1668, operating from Munich to Cluj, an Airbus A320 registered D-AIZP, performed a go-around in Cluj, Romania due to a flock of birds and subsequently diverted to Budapest.

During the go-around maneuver, the aircraft’s right engine experienced a bird strike.

As part of safe operational procedures, the crew decided not to continue the flight to Cluj and diverted to Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

A decision regarding the aircraft’s return to service will be made after technical inspection and maintenance work.
