Kenya Airways Returns Boeing 737-800 to Service

Kenya Airways has returned a Boeing 737-800 aircraft to service as part of the gradual reintroduction of three narrow-body aircraft into its fleet. This marks the second aircraft to rejoin operations.

The aircraft’s rollout from the hangar highlights progress in restoring capacity and strengthening operational readiness ahead of the busy festive travel period. Speaking at the event the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Hon. Teresia Mbaika, emphasized the importance of a resilient aviation sector and reaffirmed continued government support aimed at improving fleet availability.

Kenya Airways Acting Group CEO, Capt. George Kamal, stated that the aircraft’s return reflects the dedication of the airline’s engineering and operations teams, noting that it will enhance schedule reliability and boost passenger confidence.
