Japan Airlines Expands Fleet with Additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 Orders

Japan Airlines (JAL) has placed an order for 17 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal strategy. This new purchase adds to the 21 aircraft order announced in 2023, bringing JAL’s total commitment close to 90 aircraft.

The airline aims to gradually replace its aging 737-800 fleet, focusing on enhancing efficiency and sustainability, particularly on domestic routes.
