Spain’s Civil Aviation Authority has granted Air Europa the right to operate up to seven weekly flights between Barcelona and Istanbul. With this approval, the launch of scheduled services between the two cities has been cleared.
Air Europa currently operates scheduled flights on the Madrid–Istanbul route. If the Barcelona service is launched, the airline’s Istanbul operations are expected to expand further.
Meanwhile, it is also noteworthy that Turkish Airlines holds a 26% stake in Air Europa’s ownership structure.
