Iran Claims U.S. C-130, 2 Black Hawks Downed

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that a U.S. C-130 Hercules rescue aircraft and two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters were shot down while searching for a downed pilot.

While U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the second pilot of the downed F-15E Strike Eagle had been rescued, Iranian authorities denied this claim.

Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said the U.S. rescue attempt had failed. According to the statement, “the American aircraft searching for the downed pilot was destroyed by Islamic fighters south of Isfahan.”

There has been no official confirmation from the United States regarding the losses reported by Iran.
