IndiGo Expands into Long-Haul Market with Direct Flights to Manchester and Amsterdam

IndiGo has announced its entry into the long-haul market with the launch of direct flights from India to Manchester and Amsterdam, starting in July 2025. The Manchester route will be the first direct connection from India to the North of the UK, marking a significant step in the airline’s international expansion strategy.

Aiming to strengthen its presence in Europe, IndiGo will provide seamless connectivity between Manchester, Amsterdam, and its extensive domestic and Asian network. Over the past two years, the airline has expanded its European footprint through multiple codeshare agreements, linking various European cities to India.

To accelerate its long-haul operations, IndiGo has signed a damp lease agreement with Norse Atlantic Airways for Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The first aircraft entered service on March 1, 2025, and three more will join the fleet in the second half of the year. These aircraft will enable IndiGo to expand in the European market while awaiting deliveries of Airbus A321XLR and A350-900 aircraft from 2027 onwards.
