IndiGo Crisis on Day Four: All Domestic Flights from Delhi Canceled

India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has canceled all domestic flights scheduled to depart from Delhi Airport (DEL) as the crisis enters its fourth day. Due to significant shortages of cabin and cockpit crew in recent days, hundreds of flights have been delayed or canceled. In a statement, the airline apologized to passengers and assured that it was working to restore operations to normal.

IndiGo stated, “We understand how difficult the disruptions have been for our passengers and sincerely apologize. We know that this issue cannot be resolved overnight, but we are mobilizing all resources to return our operations to normal as quickly as possible.”

According to information reported by Hindustan Times, over 1,000 flights have been canceled in the past four days. Tensions reportedly rose between passengers and airline staff due to flight cancellations and long delays. In one video shared on social media, it was claimed that a passenger threw water at a staff member, though the authenticity of the footage could not be confirmed. In another video, passengers were seen arguing with staff at the airport counter.

Meanwhile, in response to the crisis, other Indian airlines like SpiceJet have announced they will operate additional flights today and tomorrow to support the affected passengers.
