Hawaiian Airlines Converts Part of 787-9 Orders to 787-10

Hawaiian Airlines, under Alaska Air Group, has revised its fleet plan by converting five Boeing 787-9 orders to the larger-capacity 787-10.
While the 787-10 has a shorter range than the 787-9, it offers sufficient capability for Seattle-based routes to Asia and Europe. The new aircraft will feature a three-class configuration with over 300 seats, including business, premium economy, and economy cabins.
Originally ordered in 2018, the 787-9 commitment was later expanded after Alaska Air Group acquired Hawaiian Airlines. This latest change reflects the group’s strategy to prioritize higher capacity on long-haul operations.
