Foreign Airlines Extend Suspension of Tel Aviv Flights

Following a missile strike by Yemen’s Houthi rebels near Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, several foreign airlines — including United, Lufthansa, and Wizz Air — have extended the suspension of their Tel Aviv operations. Lufthansa Group (including SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines) has cancelled all Israel-bound flights until May 11. Air France extended its suspension through May 13, United suspended its Newark–Tel Aviv service until May 11, and Wizz Air halted flights until May 8.
ℹ️ The attack occurred Sunday when a ballistic missile launched from Yemen struck a wooded roadside area near Terminal 3 of Ben Gurion Airport, injuring several people and causing chaos in the vicinity. All takeoffs and landings were temporarily halted, though airspace reopened approximately an hour later.
