Flynas Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Safran for Next-Generation Seats

Saudi Arabia-based low-cost airline flynas has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with French aerospace equipment manufacturer Safran for the cabin seat systems to be used in 60 new A320neo aircraft joining its fleet. Under the agreement, state-of-the-art seats will be provided for both passengers and cabin crew.

The new seats were unveiled during the Arabian Travel Market event held in Dubai from April 28 to May 1, in the presence of flynas Chairman Ayed Al Jeaid, CEO Bander Almohanna, and Safran Seats France Vice President Quentin Munier.

According to the agreement, each A320neo aircraft will be equipped with 174 seats specifically designed for medium- to long-haul flights. The new-generation seats feature several innovations, including USB A and C ports (60W output), electronic device holders, lower pockets, coat hooks, and cup holders. Premium class seats, positioned at the front of the aircraft, will offer enhanced privacy and comfort with features such as increased seat pitch, adjustable headrests, and a middle seat blocker.

flynas CEO Bander Almohanna stated, “Through this strategic partnership with Safran, we are reshaping our next-generation cabins with elegant design and advanced technology. These seats align with our expansion plans that support the National Civil Aviation Strategy, which aims to connect Saudi Arabia to 250 international destinations, serve 330 million passengers annually, and welcome 100 million tourists by 2030.”

Safran representative Quentin Munier added, “We are delighted to work with flynas for the first time. Equipping their new A320neo fleet with our Z200 economy seats will provide significant benefits for both passengers and operators.”
