First F110 Engines Delivered for KAAN

General Electric (GE) has delivered the first F110-GE-129E engines produced for Türkiye’s national fighter aircraft, KAAN, to Türkiye. In response to a question raised in parliament, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler stated that a total of 10 engines have been delivered for use in prototypes.
It was noted that the engines are expected to be used in flight tests planned to begin in 2026. However, negotiations for an additional 80 engines remain uncertain due to U.S. sanctions related to the S-400 system.
In the long term, Türkiye aims to power KAAN with the domestically developed TF35000 engine. Nevertheless, the use of U.S.-origin F110 engines is planned for the Block 10 and Block 20 versions.
