First Court Ruling from China in the Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight Case

In the lawsuits filed in China regarding Malaysia Airlines flight #MH370, which disappeared in 2014 with 239 passengers on board, the first court ruling has been issued. A court in Beijing ruled that compensation be paid to the families of eight passengers who were on the aircraft.

Under the ruling, Malaysia Airlines will pay approximately 2.9 million yuan (about 410,000 US dollars) to each family. It was stated that the compensation covers moral damages and funeral expenses.

Authorities announced that 23 lawsuits related to #MH370 are still ongoing. Meanwhile, Malaysia stated that search efforts to locate the aircraft will be resumed later this month. US-based company Ocean Infinity will conduct a new seabed search lasting around 50 days, starting from December 30.
