Fatal Plane Crash at Statesville Regional Airport, North Carolina

A fatal accident occurred at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina, USA, following the crash of a business jet. According to a statement released by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the aircraft involved was a Cessna C550 (Citation II) with six people on board. Flight tracking data indicates that the aircraft departed at 10:06 AM local time, but crashed shortly after for reasons yet to be determined.

Records show that the aircraft is registered to a private company affiliated with retired NASCAR driver Greg Biffle. It has not yet been officially confirmed whether Biffle was on board at the time of the accident. Footage from the scene showed a massive fire at the crash site.

Following the event, Statesville Regional Airport has been closed to all traffic until further notice due to debris and flight emnity (safety) protocols. A comprehensive investigation has been launched by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to determine the cause of the crash.
