Emirates Carried 55.6 Million Passengers in 2025, Placed Orders for 73 New Aircraft

Emirates carried 55.6 million passengers in 2025, operating approximately 180,000 flights. As part of its efforts to strengthen its fleet, the airline placed orders for 73 new aircraft during the year, marking another significant milestone in its 40-year history.

One of the most notable developments of the year was Emirates beginning scheduled operations with the Airbus A350. The A350 fleet quickly expanded to serve 18 destinations, while the introduction of refurbished A380 and B777 aircraft helped make the Premium Economy cabin more widely available across the network.

Emirates continued its growth in Asia by launching new routes to mainland China and Southeast Asia. During the same period, the integration of the Starlink satellite internet system into the fleet was announced, ushering in a new era for in-flight connectivity services.

Sports sponsorships, the rapid-delivery-focused Emirates Courier Express service, the Skywards loyalty program reaching 37 million members, and accessible travel applications were among the other factors that enhanced Emirates’ operational capacity and global brand visibility throughout 2025.
