During a Ryanair flight from Tenerife to Bristol, an elderly couple was escorted off the plane by police after a failed £7 payment attempt for in-flight snacks.
Ann-Marie Murray, 55, and her partner tried to purchase a bottle of cola, water, and Pringles during the flight, but their Barclays bank card failed to process the payment. The couple explained they had spent all their cash during their holiday and had no alternative payment method.
Ann-Marie claimed she offered to withdraw cash from an ATM upon arrival to settle the bill, but said her proposal was initially rejected by the cabin crew. Following the payment issue, police were called upon landing and escorted the couple off the aircraft.
