Delta Air Lines is considering suspending future Airbus aircraft orders due to potential new trade tariffs being evaluated by the U.S. government. The airline has formally notified the U.S. Department of Commerce, indicating that if the uncertainty continues, upcoming orders may be frozen.
Delta’s current fleet includes various Airbus models such as the A220, A321, A330, and A350. Its only active Boeing order is for the 737 MAX.
Recently, Delta managed to take delivery of an Airbus A350 via Japan, temporarily avoiding the impact of proposed tariffs.
Spirit Airlines has also raised concerns, stating that deliveries of its A320neo and A321neo aircraft may be postponed depending on how the tariffs are implemented. Both airlines maintain fleets heavily reliant on Airbus aircraft.
