Delta Aircraft Returned to the Gate After De-icing Fluid Entered the Cabin

Before Delta Air Lines flight #DL1307, scheduled to operate the New York–Jacksonville route, an incident occurred on an Airbus A220 in which a passenger was soaked with de-icing fluid.
Right after the aircraft underwent standard winter operations before taxiing, it was noticed that the fluid had leaked into the cabin and wet a passenger. The cabin crew immediately reported the situation, and the takeoff was aborted, with the aircraft returning to the terminal. The aircraft was then taken in for a technical inspection.
A Delta spokesperson stated that the passenger was seated near the wing and that only a small amount of fluid splashed onto the passenger’s clothing. They also emphasized that de-icing fluid leaks are very rare and that the chemicals used are harmless to passengers.
Delta Air Lines assigned another aircraft for the continuation of the flight. Due to the incident, the service operated with a delay of several hours.
