Delta Air Lines Reports $5 Billion Profit in 2025: Economy Revenue Drops, Premium Sales Surge
Delta Air Lines revealed a striking picture in its 2025 financial results. Despite a $1.1 billion decline in economy class ticket revenue compared to the previous year, the airline closed the year with a $5 billion net profit. The gap was largely offset by strong premium cabin ticket sales.
The data reflects a clear shift in passenger preferences toward higher-yield premium products, indicating a structural change in the airline revenue model. According to Delta’s report, revenue from premium products increased by 10%, while main cabin (economy) ticket revenue fell by 5%.
This trend highlights how growing demand for comfort and elevated services—especially in the post-pandemic travel landscape—is significantly contributing to airline profitability.
