Data of Over 5 Million Qantas Passengers Leaked

Australian airline Qantas has confirmed that the personal information of more than 5 million of its customers has been leaked on the Dark Web. The cyberattack is believed to be linked to unauthorized access through the airline’s call center in July 2025. Following the discovery of the breach, the company temporarily shut down its customer service platform, Salesforce, and implemented additional security measures.
The attack was claimed by a group called Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters, who announced that after their ransom demands were refused, they published the data on offline platforms. In a social media post, the group stated that “attacks will continue until policies change.” The leaked data reportedly includes names, email addresses, frequent flyer numbers, and for some users, addresses and dates of birth.
Qantas stated that affected customers have been contacted and that financial information and passwords remain secure.
