China Lifts Ban on Boeing Deliveries Following Trade Truce

Following a temporary customs agreement with the US, China has lifted its ban on Boeing jet deliveries. According to Bloomberg, Beijing has informed local airlines and state entities that deliveries of US-manufactured aircraft can resume. As part of negotiations held in Geneva, the US and China agreed to lower tariffs—previously over 100%—for 90 days. However, the agreement remains provisional, and deliveries continue cautiously.

Boeing had earlier announced that Chinese customers halted deliveries due to high tariffs and considered reselling undelivered aircraft to other airlines. However, the aircraft interiors were specifically customized for Chinese clients, complicating this process. Despite China’s significant growth potential, Boeing remains cautious in the market due to ongoing US-China political and trade tensions.
