China Airlines Places Order for Five Additional Airbus A350-1000s

Taiwan-based China Airlines has announced a firm order for five additional Airbus A350-1000 aircraft to strengthen its long-haul flight network With this new order, the airline’s total order for the A350-1000 has increased to 15 units The new aircraft will be integrated into operations to complement the 15 A350-900 aircraft currently in the carrier’s fleet

Kao Shing-Hwang, Chairman of China Airlines, stated that expanding the fleet is a significant step in their long-term growth strategy Shing-Hwang emphasized that the A350-1000, with its operational efficiency and passenger comfort, is fully aligned with their goals of modernizing the fleet and enhancing global competitiveness

Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, made the following statement regarding the matter:

“This order is a strong vote of confidence in the A350-1000 aircraft Offering next-generation efficiency, range, and cabin comfort, this model will add strategic value to China Airlines’ future goals”

As one of the world’s most modern widebody aircraft, the A350 offers:

  • Range: Provides the opportunity for non-stop flights up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometers.
  • Efficiency: Thanks to next-generation Rolls-Royce engines and the use of lightweight materials, it provides a 25% advantage in fuel consumption and operating costs compared to previous-generation aircraft
  • Sustainability: The aircraft, which can currently operate with 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), are targeted to reach 100% SAF capability by 2030

As of the end of November 2025, the A350 family has successfully received approximately 1,500 orders from 66 customers worldwide
