At the IATA Annual General Meeting held in New Delhi, airline executives expressed cautious optimism regarding Boeing’s efforts to improve production quality and safety standards. Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci noted that while progress is being made quarter by quarter, there is still work to be done. Emirates President Tim Clark added that communication with Boeing has become more transparent and direct under new CEO Kelly Ortberg.
As Boeing works to restore its reputation, some airlines have begun sending their own quality control teams to monitor production directly at Boeing facilities. The company is reportedly adopting a more systematic approach to reduce unstructured workflows, and senior management is becoming more visible on the production floor.
While executives view these developments as encouraging, they agree that rebuilding full confidence in Boeing will take time.
