A United Airlines Boeing 737 (registration N37456) was preparing to depart from Newark Liberty International Airport to Miami International Airport when a single bullet was discovered inside an overhead cabin bin.
Following the discovery, authorities conducted a comprehensive security inspection of the aircraft. The cabin and surrounding areas were thoroughly searched to ensure no additional prohibited items were on board.
Flight UA1511 had been scheduled to depart at 14:07 on February 17, 2026. However, due to the security procedures, the aircraft departed approximately three hours later, around 17:00 local time. The origin of the bullet has not yet been determined.
