
A passenger aircraft operated by Buddha Air veered off the runway after landing at Bhadrapur Airport in Nepal. The ATR 72-500, operating a flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, overran the runway during landing and came to a stop on the grassy area beside the runway.
According to a statement from the airline, all 51 passengers and 4 crew members were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The aircraft reportedly exited the runway at approximately 21:08 local time.
Local authorities confirmed that necessary safety measures were implemented immediately after the incident and that airport operations were brought under control. The airline also announced that a technical team had been dispatched from Kathmandu to assess the aircraft.
A technical investigation is ongoing, and further details regarding the cause of the runway excursion are expected following the evaluation.
