British Airways to Launch Melbourne–London Flights

British Airways announced that it will begin daily flights between Melbourne and London Heathrow starting in January 2027. Services, set to commence on January 11, will operate via Kuala Lumpur. The new route will be served by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

British Airways’ Director of Planning and Strategy, Neil Chernoff, stated that the new route forms a key part of the airline’s winter 2026 schedule planning, adding that strong passenger demand is expected on the Melbourne service.

Turkish Airlines currently operates its Istanbul–Melbourne flights via Singapore, while its Sydney services are conducted via Kuala Lumpur.
