Boeing 777X Deliveries Delayed to 2027

The delivery schedule of Boeing’s next-generation widebody aircraft, the 777X, has been postponed once again. The first deliveries, initially planned for mid-2026, were first pushed to the end of the year and are now delayed until 2027. According to Bloomberg, this delay is expected to cost Boeing billions of dollars.

Introduced at the 2013 Dubai Airshow, the 777X has drawn attention with major orders, including 200 aircraft from Emirates and 100 from Qatar Airways. Lufthansa also plans to replace its 747s and A340s with this model. However, both Lufthansa and Emirates have voiced dissatisfaction with the repeated delivery delays.

The program’s setbacks have been attributed to engine mount issues, malfunctions in the anti-icing system, and challenges in the certification process.
