Aviation Tensions Between the U.S. and Canada

BREAKING | Aviation Tensions Between the U.S. and Canada: New Statement from Trump

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has made new statements on aviation certification and trade, claiming that Canada has not certified the Gulfstream Aerospace G500, G600, G700, and G800 aircraft.

Trump stated that the airworthiness validity of Canadian-built aircraft in the United States could be withdrawn, and warned that if no resolution is reached, a 50% customs tariff may be imposed.

Canadian manufacturer Bombardier announced that it is in contact with the Canadian government and that efforts have begun to resolve the issue.

The developments are expected to potentially impact a large number of Canadian-built aircraft operating in U.S. airspace, as well as regional airline operations.
