Apollo Weighs Sale of Atlas Air: Target Valuation Set at $12 Billion

According to a report by Bloomberg, citing sources close to the matter, private equity firm Apollo Global Management has placed a potential sale of cargo operator Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings on the table. It was reported that the process is in its early stages and Apollo aims to value the company at approximately $12 billion, including debt.
Based on information shared by Reuters with reference to Bloomberg, some companies have made initial contacts regarding Atlas Air. It was noted that both Apollo and Atlas Air declined to comment on the matter.
Following an acquisition completed by an Apollo-led investor group in 2023, Atlas Air was delisted from the stock exchange and transitioned to private company status. The enterprise value of the transaction at that time was announced as $5.2 billion.
Operational Framework of Atlas Air
Atlas Air Worldwide incorporates cargo operators such as Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, as well as Titan Aviation Leasing on the leasing side. The group provides services across various business lines, including ACMI and CMI operations, scheduled and charter flights, and dry leasing.
Titan Aviation Leasing had announced in the autumn of 2025 that it added two Airbus A330-300 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversion aircraft to its portfolio.
