Alaska Airlines Places the Largest Aircraft Order in Its History

U.S.-based airline Alaska Airlines has announced that it has placed the largest aircraft order in the company’s history. Under the agreement with Boeing, the airline ordered 105 Boeing 737-10 (737 MAX 10) aircraft, while also firming up an earlier option for five wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliners. In addition, 35 additional 737-10 options were added to the contract.

With this major order, Alaska Airlines’ total number of Boeing 737 MAX family aircraft on order has reached 174.

The order coincides with the 60th anniversary of the partnership between Alaska Airlines and Boeing and is seen as a key step in the company’s “Alaska Accelerate” growth strategy. As the largest model in the Boeing 737 MAX family, the 737-10 is expected to deliver operational efficiency with lower seat-mile costs, particularly on high-demand routes.

The five newly ordered Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be used to support expansion into long-haul international routes such as Europe and Asia.

This move reflects the company’s strategic commitment to fleet standardization, scalable growth, and expansion in international markets.
