Airbus has received approval from the French government to expand its production site in Toulouse by 18 hectares, initiating construction across the Komomière, Cornebarrieu, and Lagardère areas.
The government’s decision grants an exception to the 2021 Climate and Resilience Law, which restricts the development of new land. Officials classified the Airbus project as being of “national importance,” describing it as a strategic move for France’s aerospace industry and economy.
The expansion aims to boost Airbus’s production capacity. The company plans to produce 75 A320 aircraft per month by 2027 and stabilize A330 output at 4–5 units per month. The project also includes the construction of new paint hangars, parking areas, and a second delivery center.
