Airbus Plans to Boost A320 Production to 75 Aircraft per Month by 2027

Airbus is preparing to significantly increase its A320 family production capacity to meet growing global demand. The company aims to produce 75 aircraft per month by 2027, including the A320neo, A321neo, and A321XLR models. Currently, there are over 7,000 orders for these aircraft.

To support this expansion, Airbus has opened new final assembly lines in Mobile, United States, and Tianjin, China. The new Mobile facility nearly doubles Airbus’s narrow-body production capacity in the U.S., with Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, stating:

“We are building a global, sustainable, and flexible production network.”

In Tianjin, a second assembly line has been added to the existing facility, reflecting Airbus’s confidence that China will become the world’s largest aviation market by 2030.

Currently, about two-thirds of all Airbus orders are for the A321 and its variants, underscoring the strong market shift toward higher-capacity single-aisle aircraft.
