Airbus Falls Short of Q1 Delivery Target

In the first quarter of 2025, Airbus delivered only 136 aircraft, reaching just 17% of its annual goal of 820 deliveries. In the same period last year, the figure stood at 142. Supply chain issues and engine shortages have slowed down deliveries.

CEO Guillaume Faury stated that many deliveries are being pushed to the second half of the year, with 17 A320neo aircraft currently awaiting Leap-1 engines. The A220 and A350 programs were also impacted by delays linked to Spirit AeroSystems. To reduce this dependency, Airbus is in the process of acquiring certain assets from Spirit.

Despite the setbacks, Airbus is maintaining its production targets: increasing A320 output to 75 per month, A350 to 12, and A220 to 14. In Q1, revenues rose by 6%, and the company received 204 new orders, bringing its total backlog to 8,726 aircraft.
