Air Niugini Unveils Its First Airbus A220-300 with Special Livery

Papua New Guinea’s flag carrier, Air Niugini, has introduced its first Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Registered as P2-PGA, the aircraft features a special livery named “People’s Balus,” designed to commemorate the country’s 50th year of independence.

With the arrival of the new jets, Air Niugini plans to gradually retire its aging fleet of Fokker 70s and Fokker 100s.

The airline has placed a total order for 11 A220s. Three of these will be delivered by the end of this year, while the remaining aircraft are scheduled to join the fleet over the next three years.
