Air Europa and Airbus have officially completed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) covering 40 A350-900 aircraft that was signed at the Dubai Airshow 2025, during the Fitur Tourism Fair in Madrid.
Air Europa President Juan José Hidalgo and Airbus Head of Sales for Western Europe Ville Arhippainen met on the second day of the fair to finalize the agreement. The parties marked this important milestone with a short ceremony held at the Air Europa stand.
Under the agreement, the A350-900 aircraft to be added to the fleet are expected to help Air Europa retire its aging widebody jets more quickly and strengthen its competitiveness, especially on high-demand transatlantic routes. In a previous statement, Hidalgo described the A350-900 as a “game changer” for key destinations in Latin America, noting that the aircraft enables the airline to expand its network without sacrificing efficiency.
Speaking during the Dubai Airshow 2025, Airbus Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry said, “We are proud to welcome Air Europa to the A350 family. This order is a strong endorsement of the A350 as a benchmark platform in the long-haul market in terms of efficiency and passenger comfort.”
