According to the official announcement made on April 30, 2025, the cargo operations of Belgian carrier Air Belgium were taken over by French logistics giant CMA CGM with the approval of the Belgian bankruptcy court. The new owner also obtained the necessary licenses from Belgian civil aviation authorities and completed all legal permissions to begin operations. Thanks to this acquisition, the employment of 136 staff members was preserved.
Air Belgium will continue operating under its own brand for now. The company’s fleet includes two Airbus A330-200P2F and two Boeing B747-8F freighters. However, it was noted that the Airbus aircraft are currently parked in Woensdrecht, Netherlands.
